Black Hills Caverns Custom Design
Nestled in the Black Hills, a few miles outside of Rapid City, South Dakota, is a unique and fun cave to stop and explore. The Black Hills Caverns are an absolute treasure and a place my family and I will be coming back to for more exploring. Before I get into the amazing tour and fun experience we had at Black Hills Caverns, let me backup and talk about how we ended up here in the first place.
How It Came To Be
About a month ago, Karen Johnson, who manages the Black Hills Caverns, and I were having a discussion about merchandise for the BHC gift store. She had said their usual t-shirt supplier would not be able to fulfill orders until July. I encouraged her to give Roam Around a shot and let us bid on the order and see if we could fulfill it faster. That is how we ended up with one of the coolest custom accounts yet.
We ended up updating their seasonal merchandise by basing it off of the previous year’s design with a few modifications. Because consistency is very important to our clients, we went off of the shirts and styles used in previous seasons with the addition of youth sizing and women’s v-necks as a new option for the Black Hills Caverns customers. Let me tell you, we LOVED the outcome. Altogether we ended up printing five different sweatshirts styles, two women’s v-neck styles, two short sleeve styles, three long sleeve styles, and two youth styles for a total of 168 items. We were able to source, design, print, and deliver within 14 days. That’s one of the benefits of working with a small business.
Delivery
The best part came when it was time to deliver the merchandise. My family and I happened to be traveling to the Black Hills when the merchandise was finished and told Karen we would love to deliver for her and see the gift shop. She did us one better and got us a tour of the Caverns. It was AMAZING. By far one of our favorite experiences this summer as a family. My kids absolutely loved traveling through the cave system and learning about rock formations, the immense history of the cave, the crystals that grow inside the limestone cavern, and exploring the darkness. It is well worth a few hours of your time to stop into Black Hills Caverns and take your family on a cave exploration. We will absolutely be back to explore more.
